California Weed Science Society Virtual Poster Contest 2021

The California Weed Science Society (CWSS) is preparing for the 73th Annual Conference and is now accepting applications for the “Virtual” Student Poster Contest. For the health and safety of our society's membership, the conference will be held on-line in January 2021. While this may not be business as normal, it is still an EXCELLENT opportunity for students to share their research results by competing in a poster competition.

Posters should consist of information gathered from research projects related to weed science and vegetation management. Undergraduate students do not have to present results of their own research, but they must be familiar with all aspects of the research. Student posters should be scientific in nature and should not be sales or marketing tools.

As the posters will be presented “virtually” there will be no need to print them out. The poster should be submitted as a PDF document which will be uploaded to the society’s website. Additionally, the student must include a video (less than 5 minutes) of their poster presentation, and upload that video to YouTube. The video should walk the virtual audience though your poster and research results, just as if someone came up to talk to you at a conference (More information Here). Poster and videos must be done and submitted by January 10, 2021.

Undergraduate and Graduate students will be judged in separate categories. The number of prizes given will depend on the number of students in each section.
