SKILLS JUDGING
All participants attending Spring Fling are encouraged to compete in skills judging! No preparation required. For this activity, members judge categories that will be visual things having to do with food, clothing, leather crafts, etc. It's fun!

Knitting & Crocheting Traditional (Attach swatch and description for fashion show commentary) Non Wearable (Write a description of the item you made) Purchased ($30.00) New or Used (Create entire outfit without spending over $30.00 not including sales tax. Must have receipts (you will be asked to model your outfit) Wearable Art-Embellished (Use creative techniques and workmanship to decorate a purchased garment for a unique outfit. Use arts/crafts techniques to embellish. The main entry must be a coat, dress, pants, shirt, etc. Embellished accessories like shoes or a hat may complete the outfit. Duct Tape entires not eligible for this category. Upcycle (Take one or more existing garment(s) and turn it inot a new, different and wearable garment. A 'before' photograph showing the orginal garment(s) is required. (This is not an alternation but a complete change of a garment, such as jeans made into a skirt.) Other fabrics and material may be added during the construction process.)

Duct Tape

100% Duct Tape (Wearable from scratch. Must model for judges.) Embellish with Duct Tape (Premade Clothing) Duct Tape Accessories ( Tie, scarf, box, etc.) member to show use

If you are bringing any WEARABLE item, please write a short description to be read allowed during the fashion show. Be as descriptive and creative as you like!

(for example- Jane is wearing a mid-length summer skirt with a high waistline and pleated hem. The fabric is a cotton blue and white gingham check with white lace trim. This skirt is perfect for a sunny summer picnic or walking by the lake shore.)

Cake Decorating (Bring a prepared decorated cake on a sturdy base.) Favorite Food (Bring your favorite food (Prepared) and give a brief, but planned talk on how you made it.) Cookies, Quick Breads (Pumpkin, banana, etc.), Desserts My Plate Challenge (Create a meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) that shows how you can build a healthy plate using the USDA's My Plat recommendations*. Take a high quality color photo of your plate. Write a maximum one page description about your plate for display along with photo. Do not need to be in a foods project to participate.)

Make a poster detailing something to do with 4-H. Use photos, diagrams, descriptions, etc. This can be in general or specific to your project! This can be a single flat poster or a three fold table-top.
