Join Project Wet and UC SouthCoast for a watershed investigation as we venture from source to sea along the Colorado River, SoCal’s “River of Empire.”

In day one of this two-day work shop we use remote sensing & field investigations to examine the relationship between the Colorado river system and the management of water supplies in the Orange Empire. Day two, we pivot and use a systems approach to consider how human choices intersect with natural systems in the coastal oceans.

Participating Educators get:

  • Award winning resources from Project Wet, the Bureau of Reclamation, USGS, and the California Coastal Commission
  • A field experience at UC ANR South Coast’s citrus research facility in Orange County. Prepare to get dirty as we get outside for NGSS learning
  • Support for Key Science & Engineering Practices (SEPs): Constructing Evidence-Based Explanations & Conceptual Modeling
