Webinar #5 - Thinking Inside the Box: Farm Boxes and Local Supply Chain Resilience During the Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has unleashed large-scale food system disruptions resulting in a surge of interest in local food supply chains. An increased demand for CSAs coincides with the development of new farm box programs to link small-to-mid size farmers and consumers through food hubs, mobile markets, and online ordering systems. In this webinar, participants will learn about new farm box models designed to support the viability of small-scale farmers, improve community food security, and increase the resilience of the local food supply chain. 

Join panelists Tania Zuñiga, Business Advisor, Kitchen Table Advisors, Andy Ollove, Program Director, Fresh Approach, Odile Morrison, Board Member, CalaverasGROWN and Tim Page, Cofounder, FEED Sonoma as they share innovative ways to reimagine food distribution.

Join the Sustainable Food Systems and Healthy Families and Communities Strategic Initiative leaders for the Food Systems Resiliency Webinar Series taking place on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10-11 am. Webinar presentations will provide up-to-date information and identify resources available for UC ANR and community partners. Ample time will be used for questions and answers, identification of information gaps and connecting people with like interests. Food system resiliency will be viewed through food safety, California food systems partnerships and resources and Victory Gardens Then and Now to name a few. Other perspectives include input from growers, ranchers, shippers, marketing, consumers, farmers markets, CSA's, families and youth.
