4-H Animal Science & Welfare Project

 

Placer-Nevada County 4-H

Countywide Animal Science and Welfare Project

Ages: 10-18, This is for youth who have previous species experience and access to equipment.

 

Animal science and welfare is a multifaceted topic including ethical considerations, youth and animal safety, and more. The goal of this project is to show participants all of the different considerations that go into livestock/poultry production.

 

1. Complete the 4-H Animal Science & Welfare Project Survey. 

2. Enroll in 4hOnline.com & pay enrollment fees. (Add Project in 4hOnline if you are already enrolled in 4-H)

3. Zoom into our meetings! Fridays 3-4pm, March 19th - May 14th, 2021

4. Follow CDFA guidelines and get your animal ahead of time, we will discuss livestock logistics at our first meeting.

5. Complete 6 hours in our Animal Welfare Project, & submit your Record Book.

6. Complete YQCA Training, the Fair entries by due date & pay fair entry fees.
