Composting is Nature’s way of recycling. It is a satisfying way to turn your fruit, vegetable and green waste into a dark, crumbly, sweet-smelling soil conditioner. Composting saves money by lowering trash bills and replacing store-bought soil conditioners. It helps garden and house plants by improving the health of your soil as well as saving water by helping soil hold moisture. Learn how you can benefit your garden and the environment by recycling valuable organic resources by attending the Public Education class, “Composting and Vermiculture for the Home Gardener” provided by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9am -Noon. Various home garden composting methods and materials will be discussed. Information about worm composting or vermiculture will also be included. Hand-outs will be provided. This class is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Classes are held in the GSA building at 12200-B Airport Rd, Jackson.
