If you plan to be a productive preserver this summer, you’ll have a lot of canned, dried and frozen food in your kitchen. Then what? Don’t just look at those beautiful jars – eat the food! Join UCCE Master Food Preservers Sue Mosbacher and Sandy Sullivan to explore a brief history of the farm-to-fork movement, an overview of canning, drying and freezing processes, and using preserved food in meals. You’ll get lots of recipe suggestions on how to incorporate preserved fruits, fruit spreads, salsas, broths, meats, beans, spices, herbs, vegetables and dried foods into your meals throughout the day. Plus, find out how experienced preservers keep track of what they have and how they store it.
