Backyard Citrus and Avocados in Your Garden

Do you have questions about your citrus trees?  You're in luck!  Our presenter, Ed Laivo, works for Four Winds Growers–a major citrus grower right here in Northern California.  We will go over care of citrus, pruning, different varieties, and some of the problems you might see on your trees.  Ed will also speak about growing Avocados and what you need to know to try growing this wonderful fruit in our area.

About Our Garden

Our Garden is a public demonstration garden of the UC Master Gardener Program of Contra Costa County, located in Walnut Creek at the corner of North Wiget Lane and Shadelands Drive, just off Ygnacio Valley Road. From April through October, weekly speakers present a variety of information on edibles gardening and home gardening in general.

UC Master Gardeners of Contra Costa maintain the garden and interface with the general public. We encourage you to bring in your home and garden questions and talk with a UC Master Gardener at the Ask a Master Gardener Table (9 am to Noon)!
