Intermountain REC held its annual Field Day Thursday, August 1. Over 90 participants learned about the Center's research on alfalfa, potatoes, peppermint, wheat and onions. Topics included pest management (weeds, insects and diseases), crop yield improvement and nitrogen credits from alfalfa. Participants were led on a tour with stops at research sites and treated to lunch with homemade ice cream flavored with the Center's own peppermint oil.
Director Rob Wilson and his entire team did an outstanding job organizing an opportunity for researchers, growers, agencies and the public to come together and learn. Many thanks also to the sponsors who provided morning refreshments, lunch, ice cream and the information packet.
