We are extremely happy to announce that Rachel Ludovise has accepted our job offer as our new 4-H Secretary. Some of you may know Rachel from her years as 4-H camp staffer but most of us know her as our temporary Secretary several years ago. Rachel is familiar with the program and will be an asset to have in the office and directing our many callers. Rachel has just moved backed to Sebastopol, waiting to start her graduate program in the summer/fall. Please welcome Rachel into our 4-H family the next time you are in the office!
From Rachel: Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and I am the new 4-H Office Assistant. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College 3 years ago, and I've been working at Oregon Health & Science University in an autism research lab for the past two years.
I'll be working in the 4-H office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9-4 starting in January and I can't wait to meet everyone!
Happy holidays!
For 2014
For the rest of the 4-H year, the CCC meetings will be at the 4-H CENTER in Rohnert Park. See you January 7th at 7:00pm
Due date for next 4-H newsletter, is January 6th. We will no longer be subbing out the production, our new secretary will be handling it in the office, which will save us money!
Please email your articles, applications etc to jludovis@sonoma-county.org by JANUARY 6th.
In order for CQ to Continue to be the 3rd largest chicken BBQ in the nation…we need someone to step up! Your commitment is ONE YEAR as chair, but you will need to learn the ropes so you will shadow Matt this CQ year.
From the Chickenque Committee: As a committee, we have already begun planning for 2014 Sonoma County 4-H Chickenque. The event will take place on May 4, 2014, so mark your calendars. We've had numerous volunteers step forward and offer to help with the event, but we can always use more. New ideas and fresh energy is always welcome. Most importantly, we need to find an Event Chairperson replacement. This person, or persons, would shadow Matt this year. The idea is to have someone in this position for 3 years. The first year is to shadow the current Chair, second year it's all your event and the 3rd year is a shadow/transition year. If you're interested, please contact Matt at matt@firetriangle.com.
ALL STAR APPLICATION
The 2014 All Star Application is available online. The 2014-2015 All Star year will be more creative and involve more leadership opportunities. We are looking to put the team out in the public more and they will be given more leadership responsibilities. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or I can put you in touch with one of the current or past All Stars. It's been an incredible year.
The application is due January 10, 2014 and All Star Selection Day is February 2, 2014.

Hi Judy, Beverly Bailey here. We have a found rabbit that looks like it once belonged to someone who showed it. I'm wondering if you can put it out for all the 4-Hers. She is a sweet Mini Rex Doe. Found off of Dutton area of Santa Rosa. She has a tattoo and is very, very tame. I don't want to give out too much info but if you can put it out there I would love to find her owner.
It's okay to give my email or my Cell # 293-4907. Thank you.
Hello Everyone,
Sonoma County Grange Credit Union is once again offering Zero Interest Ag Loans for all 4-Hers who will be showing market animals at the Healdsburg or Sonoma County Fairs. Kids can borrow money at 0% to pay for animals, feed, and supplies for their project. The best part of this program is that the kids learn about checking accounts, debit cards, online banking, and best of all they can start earning a credit score! If your club would like to know more about our program I would love to come to your club meeting and talk about how easy it is to get a Zero Interest Ag Loan for your market animal project. Please email Rebecca at Rebecca@grangecu.org or call me at 584-0384 to come to your next club meeting! Hope to see you all soon and Happy Holidays!
