National 4-H week right around the corner. Let's show the community what 4-H has to offer!
We would like to recognize the following Healthy Living Club officers
Jessica Waterman, Piper Loden, Aiden Schwarzenberg, Isabella Luci and Stephanie Carreras. Please look for their pins in your October CCC packets.
Do any other clubs have Healthy Living officers? Please let me know and I will order their special pins from the State Office.
Attention all members! Annual Poster Promotion
We would like to get the word out about 4‐H in your community, so we are asking those of you who are interested, to design a poster about “Why One Should Join 4‐H.” The poster should include a number to call, and something you think would be of interest to kids and adults in your community. The poster can be designed to promote your club or for the county as a whole. This is what you will need to do if you would like to participate.
1) Design a poster to recruit members and adults to join 4‐H.
2) Posters should be 14” by 22”
3) Find an approved place to put your poster in the community. Post it by October 5th, 2014
4) Have your club leader verify your poster information and sign the form
5) Mail or FAX the Verification Form to the county 4‐H office postmarked by Friday,
October 10th (see attached)
6) Receive a pin at your November Club Meeting
This is a simple concept, but a fun and creative opportunity to build publicity about 4‐H and
use your creative imagination. We hope many of you will participate!

Attention Clubs:
I am interested in volunteering as a 4-H project leader in the Cotati/Rohnert Park/Penngrove/Sebastopol area of Sonoma County. I retired a year and a half ago from a career as a children's librarian and am finding that I miss working with young people. Many of my home arts skills began in 4-H in Sonoma County in the early 1970's and I believe that it is time for me to give back some of what I received.
I earned a BA in Home Economics from Cal State Los Angeles in the 1980's. I would be quite comfortable leading most any of the home arts projects -- clothing/sewing, quilting, fiber arts (I do handspinning and weaving as well as knitting), cooking, baking (bread baking is a favorite hobby)-- and if there was interest in a related area that I am not familiar with I could certainly learn something new!
I am hoping that you might pass my contact information along to any club that might have need of my skills. I am looking forward to becoming active with 4-H again soon.
Sincerely,
Carla Schoenthal (707)795-309Email:carlaquilts@sbcglobal.net

There is a new tab on the County Website labeled “Insurance.” All club leaders and project leaders need to register their meeting time and place whether or not you need insurance. It only takes a few minutes. Thank you! Judy
