Wang did doctorate work in the Hammock lab for more than two years--from Jan. 17, 2013 through Jan. 10, 2015--and developed the first alpaca nanobody to a small molecule, said Hammock, a distinguished professor of entomology. “Tetrabromobisphenol A is on computer boards and volatilizes, thus exposing people to this brominated compound,” Hammock said. “It is a major toxic waste program as well.”
At Huazhong Agricultural University, Wang will continue to do research, focusing on the analytical work of such targets as toxins.
Hammock, a distinguished professor of entomology, holds a joint appointment with the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology and the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. He directs the NIEHS-UC Davis Superfund Research Program or the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Hammock is also the principal investigator of the NIH Biotechnology Training Program at UC Davis.
