“We will miss Paul,” said Tolgay Kizilelma, chief information security officer and IT Infrastructure and Support manager. “He was patient, kind and very dedicated to helping people. Paul, who was a systems administrator, had broad IT experience. During the seven years he worked for ANR, he really used his experience to solve problems and took opportunities to deliver value to all of our ANR audiences.”
Wilson joined Communication Services and Information Technology as a computer systems administrator in 2010. He brought with him over 20 years of information technology experience, along with a background in printing management. Before joining UC ANR, Wilson worked at Litton PRC in McLean, Va., and as general manager of a real estate book publishing plant in Denver. He also owned and operated businesses, both in printing and information technology.
Born and raised in Oakland, Wilson was one of six children and earned an associate's degree in graphic arts from Laney College in Oakland.
He is survived by sisters Sandra Balfour and Janice Wilson and brother Timothy Wilson.
A memorial gathering in Wilson's honor will be held at 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2017, in the San Joaquin Conference Room of the ANR Building at 2801 Second Street in Davis. Everyone is invited to join his family friends and colleagues.
