St Anthony’s Sewing Day
St. Anthony’s 4-H club will be hosting an all day sewing day June5, 2012 from 10-3 in the classroom. They will be working on their pillowcase project for their Revolution of Responsibility Grant. If you are interested in helping out and meeting other 4-H members come join them on June 5th.
State Fair Ambassadors
Alan Schoff a board member from the Merced Art Council is looking for 4-H members to be Ambassadors for the Merced County Exhibit at the State Fair.
The duty of Ambassadors at the booth is to greet people as they walk by and to tell them about the many attractions and events we have in Merced County - reasons for people to come visit rather than just pass through on the way to someplace else. Also, answer any questions (or tell people where they can find answers), and encourage people to take our post cards, fill them out and mail them from the post office that is 40 feet away from our booth. That's really it.
They will be working in 2 hour shifts during operation hours, which will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. M - Th, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fr, Sa, Su. There will be a video running on the large screen, and there will be literature from a wide variety of attractions and groups.
Also, they are trying to finalize list by June 8, but are requesting that everything be turned in by June 1 so they have the entire month to organize. Adults will have to fill out a Meagans Law form at the Arts Center. And they will turn in the list of Ambassadors to the State Fair by June 15. We will have some day passes and parking passes for ambassadors who are not already at the fair. If you are interested please contact

State Leadership Conference
The 4-H State Leadership Conference brings together high school youth from across California in a four-day leadership training, networking, and learning experience. The conference provides advanced leadership training and is an opportunity for 4-H members to network and share ideas with other 4-Hers from across the state. The conference focuses on providing high school youth with experiential education on leadership development, civic engagement, college admissions and other 4-H project areas.
Youth delegates gain exposure to the campus by living in the residence halls, eating in the dining commons, and participating in educational sessions, many of which are taught by UC faculty and staff.
The conference is planned by a team of high school 4-H members and adult advisors. Working in strong youth-adult partnership, the team designs the educational, recreational and logistical components of the conference.
Participants must be high-school-aged 4-H members (14-19 years old).
