Drought Conditions for San Diego County | National Integrated Drought Information System (NOAA) | The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) is updated each Thursday to show the location and intensity of drought across the country using a five-category system, from Abnormally Dry conditions to Exceptional Drought. This map depicts current drought conditions in San Diego County. |
National Integrated Drought Information System | NOAA | NIDIS is a multi-agency partnership that coordinates drought monitoring, forecasting, planning, and information at national, state, and local levels across the country. The Drought Monitor tool shows experts’ assessments of conditions related to dryness and drought including observations of how much water is available in streams, lakes, and soils compared to usual for the same time of year. |
Fire Information for Resource Management System | NASA | This tool distributes near real-time active fire data within three hours of a satellite overpass. The active fire/hotspot data can be viewed in the FIRMS Fire Map or in NASA’s Worldview. |

Cattle Heat Stress Forecast Maps | USDA Agricultural Research Service | This tool provides weather forecasting to predict potential cattle heat stress, along with cattle risk factors and actions to minimize heat stress. |
Ready, Set, Go! Wildfire Preparedness for Farmers, Ranchers, and Growers | Ventura County Fire Department | This brochure will explain the measures farmers, ranchers and growers can take to help ensure the safety of their property in the event of a major wildfire. Wildfires are a year-round possibility in Southern California, so it is not a matter of if, but when the next fire will occur.
