Nutrition For All Ages!
With more than one-third of US adults now obese, promotion of a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced, nutritious diet and physical activity is more urgent than ever. Many Americans consume too much saturated fat and added sugar, sodium, and refined grains. At the same time, both adults and children do not eat enough fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat milk products.
To prevent obesity and improve health, community nutrition programs must reach families, schools, communities, businesses, health care providers, and government policy-makers. This website is designed to provide research updates, nutrition education resources, and evaluation tools that can help those working in the community to support Americans in adopting healthy lifestyles and improving the food environment.
