CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE Placer/Nevada

CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE Placer/Nevada Counties provides comprehensive, hands-on nutrition education as well as produce tastings, gardening, physical activity, and cooking activities to qualifying schools, youth organizations, and adult groups. 

Our vision is to help CalFresh-eligible children and families in Placer and Nevada Counties maintain healthy lifestyles through wise food choices and physical activity. 

Each school year program staff serves over 2,800 children by teaching nutrition lessons and providing evidence-based nutrition curricula, training, and materials to teachers in qualifying schools and area educators at no cost. We reach hundreds of CalFresh-eligible adults through workshops and newsletters as well as family events.
