Our Mission is to extend research-based knowledge and information on home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscape practices to the residents of California, and be guided by our core values and strategic initiatives.
Who We are
UC Master Gardener Program volunteers are lifelong learners who extend research-based knowledge and information on home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscape practices to the residents of California. We have 117 UC Master Gardener program volunteers serving San Luis Obispo County who have contributed over 10,000 hours of volunteer service and 1,600 hours of continuing education in 2022/2023.
Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and bring unique skills, knowledge and experiences to the program. We have working parents and grandparents; retired teachers, attorneys and school administrators; nurses, military veterans and landscape designers. We have a few from the agriculture and nursery industries and a few small business owners.
UC Master Gardeners are lifelong learners who provide a valuable service to residents of San Luis Obispo County. Learn more about what we do.
