As a Staff Research Associate at UCCE-Humboldt/Del Norte, I am the sudden oak death (SOD) Project Coordinator where I support efforts to monitor for SOD across public, private, and tribal lands; to explore and implement best-available management practices for the intended control of SOD; and to encourage a multi-stakeholder dialogue and participation in the SOD program through extensive and diverse outreach and educational opportunities.

I received an M.S. from UC Berkeley in May 2012 from the Division of Ecosystem Science in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. My research focused on forest health issues concerning the interactions between fire, insects, and disease. Before and during grad school, I worked extensively on projects pertaining to pathogen/insect/tree relations such as insect vectoring of pitch canker, and the progression of Sudden Oak Death in long-term ecological study plots located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and Santa Cruz Counties.
