Biography

Michelle Peeters serves as the Northern California Community Education Specialist (CES) for Climate Stewards and California Naturalist. Her role also includes coordination of the UC Environmental Stewards and UC ANR Forestry portion of the California Resilient Careers in Forestry grant, a workforce development grant which focuses on environmental and forestry education for Conservation Corps members and community college students. 

Michelle’s background includes studies in humanities, horticulture, anthropology, human development, visual arts, ecology and web publishing. She has lifelong practical experience in natural resource protection and land stewardship. Her work experience includes native plant landscaping, outdoor education, family service in a formal education setting, content management and web publishing. Michelle identifies as an earth tender, and is dedicated to sharing environmental and climate literacy to assist in creating a robust community of stewardship throughout California and beyond. She is a member of the Native American Community Partnerships workgroup.
