The vice president provides administrative leadership for the University of California's programs in agriculture and natural resources. As chief executive officer, she provides overall direction to UC ANR in the development and articulation of shared values and visions. The vice president serves as director of the California Agricultural Experiment Station and of California Cooperative Extension, as well as chair of the UC ANR Dean's Council. She oversees the Associate Vice President for Business Operations, the Associate Vice President for Research and Extension, the Chief of Staff, the Chief Innovation Officer, the Executive Director of Development Services and the Director of Government and Community Relations.

The Associate Vice President for Business Operations represents UC ANR within the Office of the President in all matters concerning resource planning and administration, as well as serving as UC ANR's representative on university-wide committees. He is also the Associate Director, Agriculture Experiment Stations, Associate Director of Cooperative Extension, and chairs the Administrative Review Council. He oversees the Business Operations Center, Contracts and Grants, the Controller's office, Facilities Planning and Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement, Resource Planning and Management, and Risk and Safety Services.

The Associate Vice President is responsible for guiding all ANR academic programs at the statewide level and is chair of the UC ANR Program Council. He also serves as the statewide program leader for county-based Cooperative Extension programs in every county and oversees the research and extension centers located around the state. He also oversees Program Planning and Evaluation, Program Support Unit, Publishing, Statewide Programs and REC Operations, Statewide Programs, Statewide Institutes and Strategic Communications.
