UC Hansen Trust is soliciting proposals addressing agricultural and natural resources issues
relevant to Ventura County. The Trust provides direct funding as well as land, labor, and
facilities at the Hansen Agricultural Center for projects that facilitate progress in achieving
the goals of the Trust, as shown below:
1. Assure the economic viability of agriculture to sustain agriculture’s contribution to
a healthy Ventura County;
2. Increase the public understanding and support of agriculture, including the
relationship of agriculture to the economy and the natural resource base;
3. Study, discuss, and debate agricultural/urban issues for better policy decisions and
achieving balance among competing interests.
While it is not necessary for projects to be conducted in the county, it should be evident that
the project addresses relevant needs of Ventura County.
Proposals are due March 29, 2010. Full details regarding this request for proposals and
necessary forms can be found at http://uchansentrust.org/grants. Completed forms and
required information should be submitted electronically to Patricia Verdugo Johnson at
plverdugo@ucdavis.edu by the deadline. For information on research support or facilities,
contact Hansen director Jose De Soto at (8005) 525-9293 X208. For information on
electronic submission or forms, contact Patricia Verdugo Johnson at (805) 525-9293 x202.
