We are pleased to introduce our newest IREC team member, Skyler Peterson, Staff Research Associate.
Skyler is a recent graduate of the Oregon Institute of Technology with a BA in Environmental Sciences. While at OIT, he participated in research projects including duck nesting surveys, soil moisture content as it relates to grain size with emphasis on willow regrowth, and avian botulism ecology.
Skyler grew up on a farm in the Tulelake area, and with his Dad has grown potatoes, onions, mint, barley, wheat and alfalfa, which are some of the crops that we work with here on the Center.
This combination of education, research and farming experience makes Skyler a great addition to our team. You can meet Skyler at the IREC Field Day on August 13. Shake his hand and say hi!

The dust has settled after Field Day, and we at the Intermountain Research and Extension Center are back to harvesting, assisting researchers and compiling data. We would, however, like to thank all of the participants for making our UCCE Centennial and Field Day such a wonderful success! We hope to see you here next year!
