Scarves for Cancer Treatment Patients
Hi, my name is Mariah and I want to encourage Merced County 4-H members to participate in a special project. The project is making scarves for individuals that are going through chemotherapy.
It is very simple to do. You need one yard of fabric. You can use almost any kind of fabric that isn't too heavy to be tied as a head scarf. Make sure to preshink your fabric and then simply make a hem on all four sides. Its is best to use either a zig zag stitch or turn it over twice to prevent the unraveling of the fabric. The final scarf should be between 31 inches square to 36 inches square.
This is a great opportunity to blend...

For youth in seventh through ninth grade, you have an opportunity to participate in one of the largest 4-H events in California. Cost is $105, however, if you are a member in good standing and have turned in your forms by December 1, 2009, Merced county will pay $55 of that making your total $45 to attend! We are also in need of clubs to send along adults as a part of the delegation.
Merced County Sheriff's Office is in need of the 4-H community help with Operation Christmas! We are in need of new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children, ages 0-16, who reside in Merced County. We will also accept cash donations which will be used to purchase toys. Please delver toys to the toy barrel in our office entry at the Merced County 4-H Office by December 14, 2009.
