We cannot wait to share the great work teachers are doing to grow healthy families!
Sallie Prudhume, preschool teacher at Calwa Elementary, does 15-minutes of daily exercise with her students before class starts. This helps students to focus once the school day begins.
Mrs. Prudhume reports that she highly encourages parents to participate with their children, and even offers bottled water. She is hoping that as the year goes on more parents will participate and make exercise a daily habit!
Keep up the great work Sallie!

Nutrition corners here, nutrition corners there, nutrition corners everywhere!!
All enrolled teachers are provided with a nutrition corner border to set up in their classroom to feature student work and create a healthy environment.
UC CalFresh is also getting nutrition corners up and running in cafeterias and other shared spaces on school campuses where they can be highlighted for all to see.
When you think about it, large companies spend a lot of money branding food to make it seem exciting and delicious. They get people excited about it, and that increases sales and consumption.
Let's join in this proven strategy, but with a twist-- let's promote healthy foods! Together we can create a healthy environment that gets students excited to try healthy foods and stay physically active! Who's with us??
