The UC Hopland Research & Extension Center is proud to announce the fourth seminar in a series of FREE public seminars at the Rod Shippey Hall. This upcoming seminar titled "Vinecology: Habitat, Wildlife, and Water Conservation across the Vineyard Landscape"will happen this next Monday evening, October 28, at 7:00PM.
The speaker is Dr. Adina Merenlender, Extension Specialist for the UC Cooperative Extension and an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley. Dr. Merenlender is an internationally recognized conservation biologist, working on environmental problem solving at the landscape scale. Her research has resulted in more than 70 publications in the arenas of conservation biology, land-use planning, watershed science, and habitat connectivity.
Her presentation will focus on how vineyard development in the North Coast relates to a variety of natural resource issues, including water use for irrigation and frost protection, maintaining quality habitats for wildlife and fish, and finding harmony in land use practices.
