Club Leaders...I will be sending out the Club Leader List this week.Please look at it and contact me as soon as you can with corrections. This is the list that goes out to the public when they want more information. We want it to be accurate and up to date!

A reminder that a number of items are due at the upcoming Leader Training on Saturday, August 23 from 9 AM until 2 PM at the 4-H Center. These include:
Record Books - All Primary Books (using the state format for the first time this year) should be forwarded for positive comments and encouragement.
Junior and Senior books should be forwarded following Club Judging only when they achieve a GOLD seal based upon the attached Record Book Evaluation Form. This means that they score 85-100%. Books that do not achieve a GOLD should not be forwarded to county for judging but should be recognized by your club. Further, all Junior and Senior Books forwarded must include the minimum standard of a PDR (Personal Development Report), 4-H Story and APRs (Annual Project Reports) and Senior Books must also include the three summary pages outlined in the State Record Book Manual. Books that do not meet the minimum standard, or when reviewed clearly did not achieve a GOLD in club judging, will be returned to the club and will not be judged.
Included with your books should be the Club Inventory of Record Books Submitted found on the County Website Club Forms and Applications page.
Officer's Books - All clubs are required to turn in an audited Treasurer's Book and a Secretary's Book. This is mandatory. Officers' should use the checklists provided on the County Website Forms and Applications page to insure their books are complete and meet minimum guidelines established by the county. Secretary Books MUST include your current club ByLaws and Constitution. Clubs are encouraged to turn in an Editor's Book.
Club Awards - Options Award Applications for Community Service, Attendance and Club Achievement Awards should be submitted on August 23 as well.
Club Budget for 2014/2015 - Whether approved by your club or not your budget must be submitted for review and approval by the 4-H Office to include Fundraising Approval Forms for all fundraising activities anticipated to raise in excess of $100.00.
Project Proficiency Forms - Members may be awarded up to two Project Proficiency pins per year. Forms must be completed and signed by both the project and the club leader.
Member Achievement Awards Order Form - May be turned in at Leaders Training or to the 4-H Office not later than September 1, 2014. NO EXCEPTIONS. To order Stars, Year Pins, Stripes and White Hats. Orders will be fulfilled for delivery at the October CCC Meeting. Forms turned in after September 1 will be held for fulfillment in 2015.

New this past year….the Program Planning Guide. Every club has one. The goals completed will determine which seal your club will be awarded on Achievement Night. See second page of the guide for criteria for green, blue and gold seal.
One time Leader Orientation required for all new leaders. Please call or email Judy at the 4-H Office to confirm and leave your contact info including your project.
Orientations will be held monthly in the fall:
New project/club leaders: Mark your calendar and attend ONE New Leader Orientation.

Volunteers….Please do not start working with youth until you are fully enrolled…fingerprints, orientation, online enrollment and fees paid. See your club leader for more information. Fall dates are subject to change if the SF Giants go to the World Series
One way to celebrate National 4-H Week…Participate in 4-H National Youth Science Day
Since 2008, more than 5 million youth have completed 4-H NYSD experiments in robotics, agricultural science, rocketry, wind power, environmental science and alternative energy. Participating is easy:
- Purchase a 4-H NYSD Experiment Kit. The kit includes a facilitator guide, youth guide books and all the materials needed to conduct the experiment. Experiment kits are available now for pre-order from the 4-H Mall.
- Register! Create an NYSD membership account and get access to download experiment resources and exclusive, additional activities to continue the fun! Starting in July, you can register the date you plan to conduct the 2014 National Science Experiment with your students, Club members, family or young people in your community and check out how many other kids are participating in this national event!
