Thank you for sharing your comment, Alexander. Les was a great scholar, conversationalist, had a great chuckle, and was a good friend to many. Of many things I learned from Les, one was to laugh off some of the silly political and petty struggles among colleagues and peers as well as some of the crazy global politics we observe. His legacy of biological control research is prolific and was a mensch (German/Yiddish for a person of integrity and honor) to boot. I will miss his friendship. Rest in peace dear Les.

Professor Ehler challenged myself and my classmates to consider entire landscapes when evaluating pest problems. His kind face and measured words remain with me today. I consider him my personal IPM godfather. Rest in peace, Les.

Les was a friend and colleague and will be missed! He was an amazing mentor and I owe so many thanks to him for teaching me so much about landscape ecology and biocontrol of insect pests. He was an amazing researcher and critical thinker and someone I always looked up to. Most importantly, he taught me how 'not to sweat the small stuff' and to stay focused on what's most important in work. His laugh was infectious and will always bring smile in my life whenever I think of him.
