Thanks to all the members, leaders and other volunteers to that helped to make the Merced County Fair a success. Even though the fair was a month earlier we had great support and help at the 4-H Milk Bar, Friends Helping Friends and the Old MacDonald's barnyard.
The Friends Helping Friends Day was larger this year since summer programs were still in session during June. We hosted over 750 youth and adults form Special Education and convalescent homes, 450 workers and staff from these programs, and some 175 4-H and community helpers. The Elks feed over 1400 people at the event! Special thanks also to the committee, MCOE, Merced City Schools, Merced Kiwanis and Kwins, Dole Foods, Hilmar Cheese, Joe Machado, and many others.
Summer programs also increased morning tours at the Barnyard where over 925 youth converged on the barnyard on Thursday morning as part of our Ag Literacy program. Thanks to our tour guides for their help.
Congratulations to all the 4-H exhibitors, with animals, foods, clothing, woodworking, posters and other exhibits at the fair!
See you next year...
