This must be a good year for them, I've seen them both in my yard (going for the larkspur), and in various gardens as I've taken walks. I don't ever remember seeing male carpenter bees in these numbers before. And I have scads of mountain carpenter bees on every plant I have in the lamiaceae family. Must have something to do with the wet mild winter. Sue
