I have lots of passiflora and Lantana in my yard in Pittsburg and lots of Gulf Fritillary caterpillars! I did not even know they were scarce.

Hello! Thank you for this information on the Gulf Frit. - I have been seeing them in Elk Grove at my brother and sister-in-law's house on their lantana. I have taken some fabulous pictures of them for the last few days - It's Nov. 7, 2012.

Great article, I have passion fruit in my back yard and this season we are overwhelmed with this particular butterfly. I'm far from an expert on the subject but really wanted to identify them. If anyone needs or wants to take a look at such an abundance, send me an email and I'd be glad to set it up. Thanks again

One of these lovely creatures just landed here. I am in the mountains Of Northern Baja at 5000 feet. It is a bit battered but lovely-feeding on a gazinia!I have a couple of lovely photos of it!
