DAVIS-Two of the classes that UC Davis entomology faculty will teach during the spring quarter include “Forensic Entomology” by forensic entomologist Robert Kimsey and “Entomology for the Fly-Fisher” by Michael Parrella, professor and chair of the UC Davis Department of Entomology.

"Forensic Entomology (Ent 158)" will be offered on Thursdays in 122 Briggs Hall. It will include a one-hour lecture from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., and a two-hour lab to follow from 3:10 to 5 p.m. The course is described as “a fascinating combination of physiological and community ecology, systematics, resource pulse theory, crime, litigation, courtroom combat, decomposition, entomology and death."

“Entomology for the Fly-Fisher (Ent 198)” will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. in 122 Briggs Hall. This is a two-unit course (reference number, 72998). The course focus: "insect life in the aquatic ecosystem; methods and mechanics of fly fishing; what you need to know to match the hatch, and enhancing the fly fishing experience for the novice and experienced angler."
