Beginning Farming Academy
September 21, 23, 30 & October 1, 2021
This is a multi-session introductory course on starting a small commercial farm or ranch. It focuses on marketing, business, and economic planning for small farms
If you are considering starting a small ag operation in the foothills, you should attend the Academy. Learn about assessing your resources, choosing products, the basics of market-driven farming and economic tools. You will finish with an action plan for jump-starting your operation.
This is a hybrid course with virtual sessions (Zoom) and in-person farm visits and action planning session. Homework activities between classes will help refine your farm plans.
- Zoom classes: September 21, 23, 30, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
- Farm Visits and Action Planning: October 1, 8 AM - 2 PM
The cost is $60 per person, non-refundable.
Apply early as the class is limited to 15 prospective producers. Applications close September 13 at 5 PM Pacific time.
