File Information | Buffalograss [Buchloe daccyloides (Nutt.) Engelm. 1, which is gaining popularity as a drought resistant turfgrass, can be established vegetatively by plugging. Annual weed competition during establishment, however, could impede rapid and/or successful establishment. Results of this 1-year field study suggest that selected preemergence herbicides are effective in overcoming this problem. Oxadiazon and isoxaben + trifluralin were effective in weed prevention and caused no visual phytotoxicity to buffalograss. Isoxaben alone suppressed buffalograss lateral growth and establishment. |
