File Information | Negative emotions can be dissipated as the parties feel heard during the pre-caucus phases of Party-Directed Mediation. While the mediator’s empathic listening is crucial to preparing disputants for the joint session, it is not always sufficient. The mediator can play an active role by coaching individuals through some additional preparatory steps. |
