Social Media Ambassador

Thank you for volunteering as a social media ambassador for the 2017 UC Master Gardener Conference! Social media ambassadors help generate a buzz of excitement about the conference and the UC Master Gardener Program before, during and after the event.

What does a social media ambassador do?

Social media ambassadors post photos, videos, quotes, highlights and engaging content to help spread the word about the conference and our incredible program and volunteers. UC Master Gardener volunteers make incredible impacts across California, and the conference is the perfect opportunity to capture our enthusiasm and passion for gardening, education and outreach.

It’s simple and fun! Use your smartphone or laptop to:

  • Use the conference hashtag #2017UCMG to post conference related updates with pictures and/or videos on your FacebookTwitter (@UCMasterGarden), LinkedIn or Instagram accounts.

  • Live tweet or post about the sessions you attend each day of the conference. Be sure to include quotes from speakers or keynotes, photos with fellow volunteers or interesting facts you’ve learned along the way.

  • Follow the statewide UC Master Gardener Program on Facebook and Twitter and share or retweet already developed conference posts and updates.

  • Help take photos and encourage other attendees to post using the hashtag #2017UCMG at the social media photo booth, located in the Beacon Rotunda on the fourth floor.

  • EXTRA: Write a blog post about the conference and your experiences with the UC Master Gardener Program, send it to mgevents@ucanr.edu by Sept. 15. This can be anything from an inspiring speaker, something you learned or your overall experiences as a UC Master Gardener volunteer.

Generating a buzz on social media raises awareness about how the UC Master Gardener Program and its generous volunteers make a difference in landscapes across California. Thank you for joining the conversation and giving people a “behind-the scenes” look at the conference and the UC Master Gardener Program.
