Join 4-H

4-H is the largest youth development program in the nation

The Fresno County 4-H Youth Development Program Year runs July 1st - June 30st. A member's 4-H age is based upon the youth's age as of December 31st of the current program year. Youth must be 5 years old by 12/31 to enroll as a Primary member in 4-H and may continue to be youth members until 12/31 of the year in which they turn 19.

Each club offers different projects. If the project you are looking for is available in a different unit, you may choose more than one unit in your county, but one has to be designated as your Primary Unit. Enrollment is completed through the online ZSuite enrollment system. Training materials and videos can be found on the CA 4-H Resource Center Enrollment page.  There are videos for New and Returning Families.

YOUTH ENROLLMENT

Step 1: Learn about what projects are offered at Fresno County Clubs/Units by visting club flyers here

Step 2: Contact the Club Leader(s) for the club you are interested in joining to let them know you are signing up for 4-H. They can give you more information about their club and the types of projects they offer.

Step 3: Choose a Project. The Club Leader can let you know what projects are open for enrollment. You can choose the projects that sound interesting to you.  Sign up for at least one project when you enroll.

Step 4: Create a profile in the enrollment system*.

Step 5: Submit program fees.  You cannot submit program fee payments through the 4-H enrollment system. Please work with your Unit Leader or UCCE 4-H office to pay enrollment fees. Some clubs have additional fees added to the program fee. Fees may be partially or entirely waived up to $72, if financial assistance is necessary. 2024-25 Fee Waiver Request Form , 2024 Peticion de exoneracion .

Step 6: Get activated.  Once your county 4-H office receives the completed enrollment and enrollment fees, they can update you in the enrollment system.  Please check your Household email for an enrollment confirmation.  If you filled out a paper enrollment form, you will have to check directly with county staff at 559-241-7519 or elramirez@ucanr.edu for your membership status.

Once your membership is made Active, you can start participating in 4-H events and activities! Families visiting for observation purposes are welcome, however hands on activity requires ACTIVE status enrollment.
