To raise awareness about SAPW threats, mitigation, and management, UCCE San Diego coordinates and hosts informational workshops in collaboration with regional partners. Bookmark this page for information on SAPW workshops, webinars, and field-training activities.
SAPW educational events typically offer discussions on the following:
- Cause and extent of palm mortality in affected and at-risk areas;
- Identification and assessment;
- Management practices for infested trees and non-infested areas; and
- Palm tree restoration and resiliency.
Workshops
Workshop presenters are chosen from a cadre of specialists, scientists, and forestry professionals with research and work experience in South American palm weevil and related palm wildland issues.
