UCPath paychecks to start Oct. 1

The systemwide UCPath Steering Committee has decided the new launch date for UCPath at UC ANR, UC Davis and UC Davis Health will be Oct. 1, with cutover activities happening in September.

The decision for UC ANR to launch UCPath on Oct. 1 comes on the heels of a smooth transition to UCPath at UC Berkeley over the last month. UC ANR's project team continues to work closely with their counterparts at UC Berkeley and other UC locations to collect lessons learned and best practices to prepare for our transition.

“I would like to express my gratitude to our UC ANR colleagues across the state who continue to maintain UC ANR's readiness to cut over to UCPath,” said Tu M. Tran, associate vice president, business operations.

The UC ANR team is using the extra time to review our readiness and focus on training and transition activities. We will continue to share information as we approach the new target go-live date.

UCPath cutover postponed for UC ANR and UC Davis

In a Feb. 28 meeting, President Napolitano, UC Davis Chancellor May, UC Berkeley Chancellor Christ and Vice President Humiston agreed to postpone UCPath implementation at UC Davis and UC ANR as recommended by the UCPath program leadership and its executive sponsors. This postponement is necessary to allow time to properly analyze and resolve critical issues related to the readiness level at UC Davis and the UC Davis Health System due to data accuracy and compounding complexities of the downstream system interfaces.

UC ANR's readiness to go live in UCPath meets required specifications thanks in part to our smaller population and a centralized administrative structure. However, it is not feasible for UC ANR to cut over to UCPath independent of UC Davis in the short time necessary to meet the April cutover because we use many UC Davis systems. Therefore, Vice President Humiston voted to postpone UC ANR's cutover as well.

Cutover activities for UC Berkeley will proceed as planned for the March and April dates.

We are working now with our partners at UC Davis and the UCPath central project team to analyze deployment options and to identify a new target go-live date. It is my sincere hope that we will be able to go live this summer in concert with our campus partners at UC Davis.

Although we are disappointed about the delay, I am proud of the outstanding work our teams have done to meet project milestones and demonstrate our readiness to go live on schedule.  Our project team has been recognized for taking the lead role among UC locations in testing and readiness activities. I'd like to share VP Humiston's thanks to all involved for a remarkable job and ask that we stay engaged in this very strategic and important project.

We will use the next few months to continue our training and preparation activities so that UC ANR maintains its readiness level to achieve a smooth transition. We will keep you apprised of any updates.

Associate Vice President, Business Operations

Prepare for upcoming UCPath outages and print your W-2

The UCPath system is preparing to transition UC Berkeley, UC Davis and Agriculture and Natural Resources to UCPath. During the month of March, there will be two seven-day outages that will affect all employees currently using UCPath.

  • Outage 1: Friday, March 1, at 5 p.m. until Thursday, March 7, at 8 a.m.
  • Outage 2: Thursday, March 14, at 5 p.m. until Wednesday, March 20, at 8 a.m.

During this time, UC employees will be unable to log into UCPath online to view or download pay statements, W-2s, leave balances and other employment records.

If you are planning to file your income taxes in March, make sure to download your W-2 in advance.

This temporary outage will not impact pay processing or leave/service accrual.

If you have a question or need information during the outage, UCPath Center associates will be available by phone. Call (855) 982-7284 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, for assistance.

Important UCPath Update from VP Humiston

UC ANR is fast approaching the launch of UCPath. We are scheduled to go live in March, when we'll join seven other UC locations using the long-awaited human resources, payroll and benefits technology that is modernizing how we do business across the University of California. On Tuesday, January 29, I hope you will join me at 1 p.m. for the online Town Hall to discuss upcoming changes.

UCPath will allow us to streamline and standardize our payroll, benefits and human resources processes, and will provide more efficient and improved service to UC ANR employees. UC ANR's fiscal silos will be unified, improving our ability to access our financial data. It will give us improved tools for efficient hiring and management of personnel transactions. Supervisors and employees will have better access to information through new self-service web portals, and will be supported by a new customer service center, the UCPath Center in Riverside.

As we launch UCPath, we should be reminded that major change is often difficult to implement, and we may experience challenges along the way. Our project team is working closely with other UC locations and the UCPath Center to prepare to support UC ANR through the transition. Be assured that the UCPath team, both at UC ANR and at the UCPath Center, will work to resolve any issues that you may encounter.

You'll receive more information about the changes in the coming weeks. I strongly encourage everyone to take some time to learn what's happening by reading project updates and viewing demonstration videos at, and sending any questions to

Thanks for your support and all you do for UC ANR.

Best wishes,

Glenda Humiston
Vice President
