Youth from various organizations that include military and non-profit groups in California, are hard at work spreading the word about April, Month of the Military Child. With help from the California 4-H Military Partnership/Operation: Military Kids Project, youth have worked together to create their very own advocacy posters. These posters are designed to provide public awareness about the hardships military youth experience every day. The posters created by these hard-working youth will be distributed throughout their local communities with hopes that the general public will show an interest in supporting local military youth and families.
The California 4-H Military Partnership/Operation: Military Kids Project, held two Speak out for Military Kids (SOMK) Workshops in honor of April, Month of the Military Child. Twenty 4-H and military youth participated in the SOMK workshops held in San Diego and Davis, California. The youth participants worked as a team to create two large unique posters with the theme of connecting military youth and their families with the general public. In addition to working as a team, some youth chose to hand draw individual posters following the same theme. The posters have been professionally duplicated and are being distributed to many state and community partners to be displayed throughout the State of California.
