One thing we want to do now, now that we’re having more fruit being produced by the seedling trees, we are asking people to rate how they like the external appearance of the fruit because certainly people will make their purchase decisions with the visual appearance of the fruit. We want to make sure we have something that is pleasing to the eye and acceptable, and then we are asking them to rate the flavor of the fruit. And down the road, when we have more fruit available we’ll probably be presenting them cut fruit and making sure that they like the cut appearance of the fruit as well.
The fruit is a little bit more pear shaped than a Hass. It doesn’t have a neck like the Hass. The texture of the peel tends to be a little bit smoother. Sometimes when the fruit is ripe, it has more yellow speckling on the skin. It turns black and I think it can pass as a Hass.
