Forest and Rangeland Systems Program Team to meet May 1-2
The Forest and Rangeland Systems Program Team will meet May 1, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and May 2, 8 a.m. to noon, at the ANR building at 2801 Second Street in Davis.
At the meeting, program team participants will give input on UC Cooperative Extension specialist and advisor positions to propose for priority needs. The 2014 call for positions closes May 19.
John Harper, the new leader of the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems Strategic Initiative, will discuss future plans for the initiative. Doug Parker, director of the California Institute for Water Resources and the water initiative leader, will give an update on drought issues and UC's role. Bill Tietje, UCCE specialist in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management at UC Berkeley and based in San Luis Obispo County, will give a presentation on oaks and drought.
