P & K Fertigation 9/4
Along with a good drink of water, the pumpkins for all teams sucked up about 20 lbs/acre of each phosphate (P) and potash (K). There was also about 10 lbs/acre of calcium (Ca) in the liquid mix. This is to help the pumpkins reproduce, or make nice big pumpkins. As water passes through the Venturi injector, it pulls in air through a hole in side where the hose attaches. This creates enough suction to pull liquid out of the bucket, into the irrigation lines and then into the soil where the pumpkin roots will drink it up. Delicious!
