Site Builder Training

Apr 14, 2010

Site Builder, ANR's very own web content management system, has received an upgrade to version 3. And by upgrade, we mean that we completely ignored what existed and wrote a brand-new system from the ground up.

Q: Is it different?
A: Oh yeah.

Q: Is it better?
A: Oh yeah.

Q: Will I be able to intuitively understand how to accomplish my goals?
A: Uh...

The new version of Site Builder takes us into the modern era of web development and design. It's flexibility and feature set are good enough to compete with today's top content management systems, and our ability to integrate completely with our existing systems (i.e. surveys, datastore, repository, etc.) makes it extremely powerful for ANR business.

With such enhancements comes a significant change in the way you create and publish content. We'll be providing documentation that will assist you, but we believe attending one of our trainings will help you understand the key concepts of the system much faster.

We've set up a trainings page (using Site Builder 3), and you can find it here: http://ucanr.org/sites/sb3help/support/

More trainings are going to be added soon, both in Davis and in Southern California, so bookmark this page and check back often!

We plan to soft-release Site Builder 3 in the last week of April, during the training at the Kearney Ag Center.
