Most commonly reported structural defects not including decay: Dense crown 22%, codominance 20%, heavy lateral limb 13%, uncorrected lean 12%, kinked/girdling roots 10%. Decay: none 79%, some 21%. Branch failures at attachment 56%, out on limb 44%. Trunk failures at ground level 43%, at 1-5ft. 31%, at 6-10ft. 12%. 83% of failures were in medium to high use areas.
