Environmental Education for Youth

Mar 10, 2011

Looking to connect youth to nature and natural environments? The Resource Conservation District (RCD) in Ventura County has a wonderful collection of nature and environmental study resources to educate and help spread the joy of learning.

A unique feature of this collection “encourages understanding of the unique contribution that agriculture brings to the county and its place in open space planning and management.” As Ventura County is the 17th most important agricultural producing county in the country, it is vital that our local youth have the opportunity to learn about this beneficial industry.

Many of the RCD resources align to California education standards. Some are local and can be enjoyed in person, while others are strictly online resources. All have the potential to spark the minds of our youth.

Main categories are:

  • Agriculture & gardening
  • Aquatics
  • Conservation
  • Wildlife
