School Garden Resources
Purpose and Scope
UC Master Gardeners share their gardening expertise with parents, teachers and community members who support school gardens in Napa County.
Our team of Master Gardeners can help you evaluate your garden site, advise you on garden needs (tools, irrigation, fencing, storage etc.), and offer suggestions on bed size and soil preparation. We can recommend plants, help you establish compost systems, and answer pest questions.
Although we do not teach garden classes to children, we are happy to provide periodic demonstrations to adult school staff and parent volunteers. We can also suggest resources for curriculum-based garden activities.
All Master Gardeners have been finger-printed and have passed background screening by the California Department of Justice. We follow horticultural practices appropriate within adopted University California Cooperative Extension guidelines and established Integrated Pest Management Techniques.
