September 2021: Zoom login changes

On <date & time> we plan to switch the way most UCANR users log into our Zoom conferencing service. We are doing this to improve reliability by removing our dependence on outdated legacy systems.

This will not affect all users, but will affect most ANR Staff. Specifically, it will affect:

  1. Users who log in via https://ucanr.zoom.us (fig. 1)
  2. Users who go to https://zoom.us, click on 'SIGN IN,' and choose the SSO sign in option (fig. 2), and use the 'company domain' ucanr
  3. If you use the Zoom app, and you use the SSO option to log in (figure 3)

In all these cases, instead of directing you to the Portal to sign in, you will be immediately directed to our Single Sign On screen (fig. 4).

If you use go to the UCANR Portal (https://ucanr.edu/portal/) and choose Login to Zoom Conferencing, you should not see any change.

During the switch there should be only a few minutes of downtime, but the transition will prevent the affected users from logging in during that period. If you are starting a Zoom webinar, meeting, or conference around <date and time> please let us know and we will adjust our transition schedule accordingly.
