To continue with last week's show called “Creating a Defensible Space Against Wildfires”, this week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners will focus on choosing fire-retardant plant species that can resist the spread of fire to your home if placed strategically in your garden.
KUCI Host Ann Liu and fellow UC Master Gardener Marie Connors share thoughts and expertise with you along with guides to reference such as the resources of Cal Fire, Orange County Fire Authority, and the Master Gardener's own UC Cooperative Extension and UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR).
Not only may the plant suggestions mentioned during the show resist fire threats, they will surely be drought tolerant, conserve precious water, AND beautify your property all at the same time.
