Livestock Proficiency

2025 Proficiency Day

Date: January 4, 2025

Livestock Proficiency Day is a one-day clinic to test species knowledge and pass levels to earn medals. Members must be present for the showmanship and judging clinics to pass, so plan to stay through lunch. Results to be returned at the end of the event. 4-H will utilize the knowledge and skills of MJC students as teachers and coaches experienced in dairy, swine, sheep, beef, dairy goats, and meat goats. Identification and written tests will be done on-site.

  • Location: Ag Pavilion, MJC West Campus

  • Entry Fee: FREE
  • Pre-registration is required and due by December 28, 2024.
  • Only one species and one level may be tested per year
  • You must be present at the clinics to pass the level

4-H members do not need to be enrolled in one of the livestock projects to participate. We do not keep records on the partial completion of levels, therefore members take all parts of the level on each attempt to pass.
